You learned biomechanics. You prescribe custom orthotics. And you've probably been doing it for years. But for many doctors, orthotics eventually become just another part of the practice. Evaluate the patient. Send the order to the lab. Dispense the device. Bill insurance when possible. Move on to the next patient.
Dr. Kevin Sunshein believes there's a much bigger opportunity hiding inside that routine. When you understand biomechanics at a deeper level and take greater control over how the orthotic is designed, prescribed, presented, and followed, the entire experience can change. You can create an orthotic you're more confident in. You can address mechanical problems you may not have considered treating with orthotics before. You can help patients better understand what you're doing and why it matters. And you can turn orthotics from an occasional reimbursed service into a valuable part of your practice.
“The opportunity isn't simply to prescribe more orthotics.”
It's to become better at orthotics and build a better program around them.
Use biomechanics to address underlying mechanical instability instead of treating only the symptom.
Learn a full-contact approach designed to control the foot in three planes.
Help patients understand what you're treating, why it matters, and why their orthotics are different.
Move beyond reimbursement. Build lasting profit.
Dr. Kevin Sunshein developed the Stride Logic approach after decades of working with custom orthotics and more than 12 years refining a full-contact orthotic system in his own practice.
Instead of viewing the foot in isolation, Stride Logic considers its role within the entire kinetic chain and uses an anatomical, three-plane approach to help stabilize the foot and influence the mechanics above it.
Understand the history, theory and anatomy behind the Stride Logic approach and begin looking at mechanical instability differently.
Master impression techniques, orthotic prescription, design, fitting, adjustments and clinical application.

Long before Kinetic Chain Solutions existed, Dr. Kevin Sunshein experienced the impact of orthotics himself.
As a young man preparing for military training, foot problems threatened his ability to keep going. A podiatrist introduced him to orthotics, helping him get through Army airborne and air assault training and beginning what would become a decades-long interest in biomechanics. Years later, while dealing with persistent tendon pain of his own, Dr. Kevin Sunshein experienced another breakthrough after being introduced to a different full-contact approach to orthotics. The results sent him deeper into biomechanics and challenged some of what he had been taught.
Over the next 12+ years, Dr. Kevin Sunshein treated thousands of patients, studied different biomechanics theories, refined his approach and learned through experience which techniques produced the most consistent results. Something else happened along the way.
He began doing fewer surgeries. Patients started telling him their knees, hips and backs felt better. They referred family and friends. And when Dr. Kevin Sunshein eventually moved the service away from insurance and into a cash-pay model, it transformed the economics of his practice.
Today, Kinetic Chain Solutions brings those lessons together through the Stride Logic Biomechanics & Orthotics system to help other podiatrists become better clinicians while building a more profitable practice.
